3 Out Of The Crowd Ways To Get Your Comments Noticed

Blog commenting has taken a totally different route since it is started to be considered as a link building technique (thanks to the CommentLuv plugin!).

As people have started building links via comments there are hundreds and hundreds of comments invading the blogosphere every second

Most bloggers receive a lot of comments on their blogs and out of those comments only some of them are genuine others are building links

In this crowded blogosphere where everyone is busy building links for the search engines if you need to take help of comments to quench your thirst about any particular topic and you make a comment, there are high chances that your comment will get lost in those crowded comments

If you notice a blogger who receives a lot of comments on his blog, he doesn’t replies to most of them. The blogger will look for a person who actually needs his help and will reply to that comment only

Get Noticed!

The bloggers tries his best to solve every issue among his readers but he often leaves some of them

If you want to get the admin’s reply on your comment then you need to make it outstanding, you need to make it different so that the admin notices it in the first look and can’t stop himself from replying to your comment

In this post we are going to such more tips to help you get your genuine comments noticed among those hundreds of link building comments.

1. Make it Long

This is the thing that works on every admin, the more text you write the more space it covers on the webpage and those big comments often catch attention of the admin and he thinks

“This guy has a lot to say, let me have a read”

Once he reads your comment he surely will reply to your comment if you have a genuine concern or question

But when you try out this tip you need to keep this thing in mind that you should make your comment as valuable as you can because however long your comment is if it is filled with useless text and crap it will become a more worse case which we call as a spam

And you don’t want your comment to land in the spam box, do you?

2. Highlight the important text using HTML

This tip is useful if the blog you are commenting on is using the default WordPress comment system or is based on blogspot because as far as I know no other comment system allows you to use HTML in comments

This is a beneficial tip because most people don’t use HTML in comments and if you use it then the admin will be able to notice your comment in the crowd

If you notice, most comment systems have a small line below the comment box which says you can use clean HTML in your comments

That is the point I want you to keep in mind is the you should only use clean HTML means if you add a lot of code it will make your comment look like a spam and most bloggers won’t approve your comment

So now let me tell you what kind of codes you should use so that you can kill the snake without breaking your stick I mean you can make your comment attractive without making it look like spam

Use the Bold tag

Just enclose your question or just the important part of your comment within the <b> tag

Ex:

<b> important text </b>

Use the italics tag

Just enclose the important part of the text you want to highlight within the <i> tag

Ex:

<i> important text </i>

Use the underline tag

Just enclose your question or important part of your comment within the <u> tag

Ex:

<u> important part of your comment </u>

Use the Blockquote tag

This is my favorite tip, you can add quotes in your comment to make it interesting and attractive but if you add quote normally it won’t be easily noticeable

All you need to do is just add your quote within the <blockquote> tag

Ex:

<blockquote> the quote you want to add </blockquote>

The third tip I would love to give you is…

3. Make it interesting and don’t just connect with the admin

This is a nice tip to get your comments noticed, if you make your comment interesting in such a way the one who reads it feels like replying to your comment then you are actually doing the best trick of the above

Most of us ask our queries to the admin and if you want to make it noticeable then ask the question to his readers, some of the people who read a post will continue reading the comments too and if one even one of them finds your comment interesting then he will reply to your comment

If the admin sees that a comment has a reply from one of his readers then he will notice the discussion

Or more better instead of making other reply to your comment you can try replying to someone’s un replied comment. This will firstly make your comment noticeable by the admin and secondly you will make relations with one his readers too (the person whom you replied too).

Conclusion

I am not asking you to act desperate all I want to say is, you know that Blogging is all about building relations and for building relations it is important to interact. The above tips will help you interact with more and more people using comments and will also boost your trust factor or reputation in the blogosphere to a little extent

The What, Why And Whodunit – November 2009

In this month’s The What, Why And Whodunit series I mentioned some opinions related to Social Media and about Google Wave. Got good response for W3 October, hope this month’s also gets the same.

The What, Why And Whodunit is not link love. I love to ask questions. In this post, I’ll display some of those questions with their answers. I’ll also include good comments made on the articles in this blog. I want to share information I learned with my beloved readers.

Some QuestionsQ. Orkut gets revamped. So what you think about it?

A. Ruchi Parikh, Choosy Info : I don’t like it, I would prefer old one rather. It seems to be a copy of Facebook and that too not done properly.

Q. Do you really like Google Wave? Please explain with some reasons.

A. Raju, Technically Personal : Yes, I do. If someone doesn’t it is just because they do not understand what they should expect from a beta product. Google Wave is an amazing and path-breaking platform. I won’t say it changes or revolutionize the way we communicate online. It may or may not, but it will surely impact the way we interact and work on the web. Google has always come up with innovative concepts, but then, more often than not they let it to the outside developer world to perfect their creations and build around it. What I am impressed with Wave is its potential. If someone is judging it by those simple gadgets and robots, it is sheer stupidity. The real reason of making Google Wave a closed invite-only project was to keep out these restless people, but then you won’t really be able to do that!

Q. Which is your favorite Social Network? Is the reason because of your friends there or the traffic?

A. Aamir Usman, Shoutpedia : Well I love Facebook, it is not due to traffic or friends, but you can manage all your social activities at single place… and it helps for the development of your personal and blog branding.

Q. Which Social Media gives you more traffic? Facebook or Twitter?

A. Ram Karthik, Blogging Tune : Twitter easily. There is a reason for it. I don’t use Facebook much. I spend most of the time in twitter. So it has to be twitter. The best thing about twitter is, I have quite a lot of friends who will not only RT my blog post but also vote for it in social sites like Stumble Upon. It drives me good traffic when I post a new article.

Top Commentators Award For November 2009

I decided to allocate 125 x 125 sidebar ad slots for the top two commentators. So each of them will get one 125 x 125 ad slot in the sidebar. I will place the ads for 1 month and it will replaced by the top commentators of next month i.e., December 2009.

Top CommentatorsComments which has 2-5 words like nice article and good posts are not considered as comments.

The What, Why And Whodunit – October 2009

Due to some reasons I was not able to publish this article last month. Regret for it. Happy that I got good response for W3 September 09. October was a fine month for me and for our blog. Got new friends, PR update and Sitelinks. I also got new doubts. Sharing some of them here. I wonder how this month will be, because I have my semester exams! 🙁

The What, Why And Whodunit is not link love. I love to ask questions. In this post, I’ll display some of those questions with their answers. I’ll also include good comments made on the articles in this blog. I want to share information I learned with my beloved readers.

DoubtsQ. The reason for switching from Blogger to Self-Hosted WordPress platform?

A. Amit Agarwal, Digital Inspiration : That’s a simple one. Self-hosted WordPress Platform gives you complete control over lot of things while with Blogger, you only have control over the templates and not the data.

Q. Which is the gadget that you are looking forward to purchase next?

A. John Chow, John Chow : Recent Gadget – I just got the Magic Mouse from Apple. It’s pretty cool actually. It is a mouse where the entire surface is like a trackpad.

Q. Which ranking system you prefer? Alexa, Pagerank or Technorati? Why?

A. Keith D’souza, Techie Buzz : I usually stay away from Rankings, Alexa is gamed. Consider this, a site which gets less than 100 thousand traffic per month is ranked less than 20K, and a site getting more than a million per month is ranked 15K. Pagerank is of two types, internal and external, so your external pagerank (the one shown in Google toolbar) will not influence your search engine rankings. I do trust Technorati to an extent, as their job is only tracking blogs and links to blogs, their authority system is much more transperant than the other two you suggested.

Q. In which blog you are interested to write guest article? Why?

A. Honey Singh, Honey Tech Blog : I don’t have enough time but i’ll suggest that we should write the guest articles on similar niche high authority blogs to drag wider buzz. I would like to write guest articles in labnol.org, make use of and for friends like himanshu (blogtechnika), harsh (shoutmeloud) and others. Human knowledge belongs to this world and Blogging is all about sharing and caring! More you share, more the other will care !

The What, Why And Whodunit – September 2009

Many people encouraged me to continue HellBound Bloggers’s new initiative The What, Why And Whodunit. If you want to know more about this series, you check our last month’s article.

The What, Why And Whodunit is not link love. I love to ask questions. In this post, I’ll display some of those questions with their answers. I’ll also include good comments made on the articles in this blog. I want to share information I learned with my beloved readers.

Below I mentioned some of my queries and doubts with answers made by bloggers aka friends ! 😉

Q. How long will you wait for a blog to load and why?

Qs and AsA. Sanjeev Mishra, Internet Techies : It should load within 3 – 4 seconds. To throw some light on it, as users are having lot many other options from SERP and they may change their mind if your blog doesn’t load quickly. To optimize your blog for fast loading, you should try Pingdom or any other service to check your load time. Try to serve the content as early as you can to engage your readers..

Q. Which Ad format you prefer the most and why you prefer it ?

A. Himanshu Yadav, BlogTechnika : Totally depends on the area where you are placing an ads, suppose you are placing ads below the title or in the middle of an article the text ads would be suitable but if you are placing an ads on the sidebar then you should go for image ad.

Q.Say out-of-the-box meaning for the term “HellBound” (as in HellBound Bloggers)

A. Liane, Better Blogging For Bloggers : HellBound – on a journey to discover something beyond the norms. A quest for new methods, might be not the usal thing you would do, but that’s just what makes it more exciting. To experience the thrill of blogging.

Q.When is a blog eligible to conduct contests ?

A. Lax, TechZoomIn : A blog becomes eligible only if it gets at least 200+ visits daily and entertains at least 100+ RSS subscribers. You can start without this also, but no use in my opinion 🙂

In The What, Why And Whodunit I’ll post some of my questions and doubts, of course with answers. I’ll ask mainly through blog comments or mails. I decided to make one post like this per month.

HellBound Bloggers Reaches 1000 Comments Milestone

This is a red-letter day to me and to my commentators. Last month, HB completed 100 articles successfully and this month we reached 1000 comments. I would like to share this with my readers. This happened because of my commentators par excellence. They did fantabulous contribution to this blog. They didn’t comment willy-nilly. Below are some of the Top Commentators in our blog ! 😉
1000 Comments

Below are some of the popular and most commented articles in this blog. I would like to remind you guys that, A Comment A Day Keeps The Doctor Away !

I waited so many months for getting a single comment in my articles once. I can still remember those days, because they are not that old. When I was a newbie, I used to send my articles to others to make them aware of the new articles published. Please don’t do things like this. I got scoldings from my blogging mentors ! 😀
