Ubuntu 10.10, the latest update to the Linux-based Ubuntu operating system has been officially released today. Ubuntu 10.10 is codenamed as Maverick Meerkat.
Ubuntu is a computer operating system originally based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution and distributed as free and open source software. It is one of the worlds most popular Linux operating system. Created by the best open-source experts from all over the world, Ubuntu is available in 24 languages. Mozilla recently announced the launch of Mozilla Firefox 4 Beta for mobiles. It was formerly code named “Fennec”. This beta (as of now) is available for some Nokia phones (like N900) and devices running Android OS (2.0 or later). Hard luck for Apple iPhone users.
Mozilla said this mobile-based browser has the same technology platform as Firefox 4 for desktop computers, just optimized for browsing on a mobile device. This browser has features like syncing, add-ons and the Awesome Bar.
This browser is till in beta stages and some main features would be missing. You can expect updates before the final version is announced. Firefox 4 beta for mobile is now available to download and test.

Mozilla released Firefox 3.6.4, the latest security and stability release for Firefox. Firefox 3.6.4 will reduce the number of Firefox crashes experienced by users who are watching online videos or playing games.
When a plugin crashes or freezes while using Firefox, users can enjoy uninterrupted browsing by simply refreshing the page. This updated browser comes with dozens of bug fixes and stability upgrades.

The WordPress 3.0 version has the codename “Thelonious”. The previous version of WordPress is WordPress 2.9.2.

Apple released iTunes 9.2 recently with lots of new features including iOS 4 compatibility. According to Apple’s release notes, iTunes 9.2 includes support for iPhone 4 and iOS 4, as well as the ability to organize and sync books to iPhones and iPod touch units with iBooks 1.1, support for iBooks PDF management, the ability to create and manage iOS 4 home screen folders from within iTunes, album art speed improvements, and faster backups when syncing a device running iOS 4. iTunes

Finally the first release candidate (RC1) for WordPress 3.0 is now available for download. You can download it using this link.
Usually Release Candidate comes after beta and before the final launch.
And that means, all features finished, all bugs squashed, and all potential issues addressed. But still don’t try it on your primary website, unless you are so excited! 😛
WordPress 3.0 RC1 is an unfinished product and it may contain some UI bugs or issues. It is recommended not to try WordPress 3.0 RC1 on your primary website.
Some things to know :
- Custom menus are finished.
- Multi-site is all set.
- The look of the WordPress admin has been lightened up a little bit, so you can focus more on your content.
- There are a ton of changes, so plugin authors, please test your plugins now, so that if there is a compatibility issue, we can figure it out before the final release.
- Plugin and theme *users* are also encouraged to test things out. If you find problems, let your plugin/theme authors know so they can figure out the cause.

WordPress 3.0 Release Candidate 1 (RC1) – Download Here
Few week backs Apple previewed iPhone OS 4.0 and they recently released the beta 2 of its iPhone Operating System. The new iPhone OS 4.0 beta 2 firmware will be supported on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 3G, and iPod touch 2G.
All the iPhone developers can download the iPhone beta at Apple’s Developers site. They have also updated the iPhone 4.0 SDK to beta 2.
Sources said there are only few new features in this latest beta release. But it contains some bug fixes and it is more stable than the first one.
The latest beta is only for registered developers with Apple.
