After so many beta versions and release candidates, WordPress 3.0 finally released.
The WordPress 3.0 version has the codename “Thelonious”. The previous version of WordPress is WordPress 2.9.2.
Some Features of WordPress 3.0 :
- WordPress MU : Allows users create multiple blogs from a single WordPress installation.
- Lighter Admin Interface: Introduces a new administration interface designed to be lighter and to reduce distractions.
- Security : WordPress has improved its security features to protect blogs against threats.

WordPress MU is not release yet, I think it is going to be in the future release of version 3.0
Won’t be upgrading this time! Heard of a lot of theme issues with WP 3.0.
Well, I can always wait for a better stable version 🙂
I already upgraded my tech blog.It has some nice features specially custom menu management.
I updated my blog to latest wordpress 3.0 version and first thing which I noticed is change in the dashboard layout.
After that I activated the network settings to let my blog behave like MU.
So far I have not seen any known issue apart from Google Xml sitemap plugin showing error when I enabled multi-site option.
I’m waiting to see a quick update for Google Xml sitemap plugin, so that it can work without any issue with multi-site,or else any better alternate plugin.

I would prefer using the same older version, i haven’t used it yet but as per my friends personal experience, i said this. Rest you guys better knows the working. 🙂
