[UPDATE] FULL LIST HERE – 40+ Movies Based On Hacking & Computer Technology

I picked up top movies based on computer hacking, security, science-fiction and in other similar categories (as of May 09) which triggered me into blogging in these categories. I found some similar posts in the blogosphere, but some interesting movies are missing there. Because those posts and articles are older. I decided to create a updated list of movies. I watched half of the mentioned movies and the rest are in my system, they are yet to watch. These movies are a must for die-hard fans of computer hacking and security. I learned lot of information from these movies, hope you too. I didn’t arrange these movies in rank order, they are arranged by year wise. I like to give credits to Yahoo ! Movies and Internet Movie Database (IMDb) for helping me gather information in their sites. If you feel that I really missed some interesting movies here, then you can mention it in the comments ! 🙂

what's the name of the movie that was about new technologies with virtual keyboards and monitors. the plot was that the young developers had to present the product to win a contract (or something like that)

    • Houser

I'm looking for a movie, you might be able to help me out on the name. I'll lay down the plot line and see if anybody knows what I'm talking about.

Young college student comes up with an idea for new hardware. College profesor tries to teach him that he shouldn't launch himself into the company without having more experience. The movie than goes on to relate his story with the companies IPO and it's road tour. He finally can't manage all the attention, and economic interests generated by the company, and on a crazy night out on the town he ends up on a beach in Mexico.

On this beach he meets an old man who is fishing at the shore. He asks the old man, why do you fish, do you not realize that you could get a boat and get more fish and sell those fish? The old man answers "And once I get more money, what would I do? Buy more boats until I had an entire fleet? And once I had an entire fleet of fishing boats what would I do? Stand on the shore and fish.

The student than returns to NY to find that the IPO is not going the way it should, and everyone is bailing. Only to find out that the company is saved because the college Professor secretly invested as an Angel Investor, owning most of the company and maintaining the student in the company.

      Hope Somebody can help.
