Before proceeding with our Grammarly review, I would like to talk about ‘mistakes’. We all make mistakes. It can be anything, today morning you would have forgotten to take your wallet, or you would have missed your jogging schedule, it can be practically anything. The point is, there is always a way to fix it. Talking about mistakes, I’m sure you write a lot every day, let it be your Facebook post, your blog post, or your emails.
Each and every day we press those keys to convey something to the world. Like Erica Albright from The Social Network (2010) says, “The Internet’s not written in pencil, Mark, it’s written in ink.” I totally agree with that. The Internet is a powerful medium, thanks to Social Media and Blogging, its growth is phenomenal these days.
Post a Facebook status that you got a job or you got married, the comments might be less, but post a Facebook status with Grammar mistakes, I’m pretty sure you’ll get plenty of comments to fix those mistakes you made. Welcome to the world of Grammar Nazis.
Grammarly Review: Why It’s Worth The Investment
I’m using Grammarly (Premium) for the past few months, earlier I was using their free plan, but I couldn’t resist trying their advanced options to improve our content further. We’ll share the pros vs cons, free vs premium and other useful topics in this post. Do check this video below to get an overview about Grammarly and how it is useful to you.
As you can see from the name, Grammarly is a writing enhancement tool, which basically corrects your mistakes related to Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation and much more. It improves your written content and gives you suggestions to make it much better.
Grammarly is supported by almost all the popular and standard websites like Facebook, Gmail, Twitter, WordPress, Tumblr, etc. It can correct your Facebook statuses, Twitter tweets, WordPress blog posts and practically almost anything, thanks to their awesome browser extensions/plugins.
Grammarly: Fixing Advanced Grammar Issues
I studied in an English-medium school, but English is not my mother tongue. So whenever I’m writing something, probably a blog post, my way of narrating or expressing will be different from others. I make mistakes here and there, but when I proofread the post before publishing, I notice some of my silly mistakes and correct them. But, what about the mistakes that aren’t silly, but advanced? I think this is where Grammarly precisely enters the scene.
As you can see in the screenshot below, Grammarly gives me a score (out of 100, here it is 87) for the content I wrote earlier. 87 is not a pretty bad score I would say, but still there are plenty of chances to improve further, to make the content smoother. They have also mentioned the kind of errors I made under ‘Grammar’ and ‘Punctuation’. This not just helps me to see my error detailedly, but also helps to me avoid them in future. This is the best part I would say. Analyzing your mistakes help you a lot to understand and fix.
They don’t just point out the mistakes in my content but also gives me suggestions to replace specific word/phrase with better alternatives. These are some of the suggestions they usually give: Overused word, Passive voice, Repetitive word, Prepositional phrase, Better word pair, Possibly confused preposition, etc.
I personally love this tool, it’s like an AI for English. They try their best to make the content better.
Grammarly Plagiarism Checker
As a Blogger this is something I badly wanted, we get plenty of guest posts for HBB and this tool comes very usefully for checking whether they are genuine or copied from somewhere. I tested this feature using some of HBB’s old blog posts and also some articles from Wikipedia. I took some sample content from Wikipedia and used it, Grammarly was able to detect the source within seconds. Kudos.
We also did the experiment with various other blog posts and found the results impressive. This is so far one of the best plagiarism checker tools available on the market. This will be very useful for Bloggers and other Content Marketers.
Grammarly Browser Extensions & Applications
Grammarly provides a free browser extension for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari browsers. You also have the option to enable/disable this and also you can get the Definitions and Synonyms via Double-Clicks.
Apart from this Grammarly provides a free Microsoft Windows App (see the screenshot below). They also have a Microsoft Word Add-in.
Spelling And Grammar Mistakes Affect Search Rankings?
I’m sure if you are a Blogger/Webmaster then this is a question which keeps on bothering you. Does your poor Grammar skills affect your awesome SEO skills?
Google will surely consider your content’s perfection by not just SEO but also Grammar in future. This might become one of the key factors to rank your blog posts as well. I don’t think there is any harm in writing a clear content without any mistakes. What say?
Grammarly: Free Plan (vs) Premium Plan
Grammarly has both a free plan and a premium plan. Now, as the name says, the ‘premium’ plan provides premium features, which includes advanced Grammar correction and suggestions. You can sign up for a trial and see how this works. If you are impressed enough, then you can proceed with that. Nevertheless, their free plan is very handy for fixing your basic Grammar and Spelling mistakes.

Thanks for this awesome post bro. Yes Grammerly realy so helpful for bloggers to avoid spelling mistakes.
Hi Pradeep, Nice article about Grammarly. This will help bloggers to know about their affiliate program. Thanks.
When I apply for grammarly affiliate 2 times they reject my application. Now what I do?
Honestly, when I started out I was not doing proofreading and stuff. All I was concerned about was just to create the article and publish it no matter what and then try curating the content. The thing is when we do that we do not have any guarantee what so ever for the thing to work and people would love reading it. Then I started getting complaints about the spelling mistakes because of the typo and that is when I discovered Grammarly. After using Grammarly it has been great and in one shot I could proofread as well as create the article in a way that the article is understandable. The biggest advantage is Grammarly understands the pattern you write and then adjusts itself so that you can focus on writing what you have in your mind that focusing on the spelling mistakes typos and stuff. Nice review and enormous value Pradeep. Cheers!
Hi Pradeep,
I have been following your blog for a while now. Find your work very helpful & inspiring. This post on correcting grammar is very apt. A good quality content can lose its sheen if it has many grammatical errors. Many people fail to see this factor affecting the quality of their work. Very well put & clearly explained.
