If you have used WordPress to run a website then you’re familiar with the fact that there’s a multitude of plugins available to do almost anything you can think of. One thing that everyone running a website thinks of is SEO, or search engine optimization. SEO is the lifeline of a website. You need traffic to make a successful website. You need your site to rank highly to get that traffic, and SEO is the art of crafting a site to attract that high ranking. There is no end to the amount of plugins available for WordPress to aid you in this quest. Today I thought I would take a look at three that I have found success with.
#1 – SEO Smart Links
You have probably visited a site with SEO Smart Links, or a similar program, in use. SEO Smart Links automatically looks through the postings on your web site for keywords that you set and links them up with links that you also set up. For instance the word “Office” can link to a post or category about Microsoft Office.
So what does this do for your SEO? Google loves internal links (links to pages inside of your web site). The more you can link to your own material the better you will look to the Googlebot. Just don’t get carried away – make sure your links are relevant.
This provides, not only the internal links your site needs, but also serves to help keep visitors on your site by providing them with links to other parts of your site that may be of interest to them.
#2 – Related Posts
Related Posts does something that’s similar to SEO Smart Links in that it provides internal links that serve to help satisfy the Google need plus keep traffic on your site. Related Posts scans your website for articles related to the one you are posting. It then links the most related posts at the bottom of your article.
You can set it choose a particular number of posts to link (3-5 seems to work best), decide on how it appears, and set how it looks at the other posts on your site.
#3 – Broken Link Checker
One thing search engines hate is broken links. Nobody sets out to put broken links on their site, it just happens over time. Links changes, web sites disappear, sites go out of business. That’s where Broken Link Checker comes in. It is constantly scanning your site for links that are either down or gone altogether. It even emails you an alert. You can make changes to the broken links from within the plugin’s WordPress Dashboard interface.

Definitely going to give these plugins a try! Thanks for sharing this with us.
I love SEO Smart Links Plugin and for related posts I don't use any plugins.
Thanks for putting this list together. I already use a few of the plugins listed here but there are still some that sound interesting and useful, too. There also some quite interesting plugin links in the comments. Need to browse through them when I have some more time. Worth bookmarking this page. 🙂
SEO smart links and Related Posts are two indispensible plugins that every blogger should use on their blogs. They help in reducing the bounce rate and help in SEO too !
Don’t forget the plugin “SEO Content Control”, it’s really useful for me 🙂
Nice post, cheers !
You may not be aware that 85% of all website traffic originates from search engines, with the majority coming from a select few. If your company has an online presence but doesn’t have a high ranking on the major search engines for your targeted phrases.
Initially, these 3 steps would be more helpful to increase the high traffic with the best support. I would like to say thanks for given valuable article on here. Yeah, its really helpful for all the people without any doubt.
Looking for information on what WordPress plugins affiliate marketers use in new installations. All responses welcome – make sure to include your own website and I'll link to it from the article I'm writing.
I have been using broken link checker and I'm really not sure, if it really does something.
I mean it is not even optimized to fix em…
The ultimate fix you have is to remove them.
But yeah, seo smartlinks is one good plugin.
After reading this article, I installed SEO smart links and I’m loving it! Nice plugin !
Nice list….i think i need to give a try to Broken Link Checker 🙂
am currently using Broken Link Checker, a must have plugin for wordpress,

3 good plugins. I think I need to try the Broken Link Checker too, just in case there are broken links hidden in my blog.
SEO smart links work like a charm, and it reduced the work of interlinking to large extent
Hi,
Those plugins mentioned here are really great, I use them everytime I work with WordPress CMS at my websites, these plugins are very useful and they sure turn out to be very important and necessarely to a website. A lot of people don’t believe in plugins, but I do believe and I can honestly say that a lot of times the plugins helped me create a fantastic website, the plugins were the ones that made my website be so cool and so on. I recommend using these plugins, tested and they’re great. Keep up the good work!
Best regards,
Maria

There’s another plugin which shows related sites from different websites. So it will help you to gain inter-blogger traffic also. Here’s the link to the plugin: http://www.blogtrafficexchange.com/related-websites/

There are definitely a lot of plugins out there for WordPress that can help you reach the SEO rankings you want to accomplish. I use SEO Smart Links on a few of my WordPress sites and it does a great job linking to pages on my website.
I haven't heard of "Broken Link Checker" but I can see how this plugin will be beneficial. I have a site I haven't touched in a few months so I will install the plugin and see if it finds any broken links I need to take care of. Thanks for sharing Alan, I learned a lot.
SEO keeps yours site above all the other running sites. If SEO of your sites are good , you can get lots of search traffics and all..
with All in one SEO, it makes a complete list
I agree with you. There are also other simillar plugins to All in one seo, but I think it is the most popular.
I am aware of All-In-One SEO and Platinum SEO (I use Platinum), but there’s no shortage of talk about those plugins on the net. I wanted to point out some less-well-known ones here.
I think all three are doing different task and all of them are compulsory for mutli niche bloggers like me . Because with them we can close our old broken links , interlink new posts and related post plugin is also good to refer same category content to readers .
agree with you totally, i’ve used all the three plugins and they can add great value to your blog if used in the right way..
SEO smart links is my favourite , you just set up once and it works like a charm… the best part is that it even works on the old posts…
I am having all 3 installed for my blog. Having AllinOne SEO in the list will make it complete 🙂
There is one more SEO Plugin which redirects to a related post Instead of displaying a 404 Error. I don’t seem to remember the name of that plugin.
Awesome three plugins which is essential for a wordpress bloggers.

You said nothing about a real SEO plugin, that will let you set your own titles and description for every page or post you add to your website.
I like broken link checker but it’s bad for website which has huge database…I installed it after long time yesterday and my server stopped responding.. Probably dev should give a freeze time of 2 minutes before this plugin started running a check for broken links.. This way we can set the settings and server would not freeze.
