Wikileaks used PayPal for getting donations from various supporters across the nation. WikiLeaks is an international non-profit media organization that publishes submissions of otherwise unavailable documents from anonymous news sources and leaks. Its website, launched in 2006, is run by The Sunshine Press. Donating using PayPal is one of the 6 ways Wikileaks used for getting donations.
I tried to donate using the PayPal donate button for testing, and I got the following message, which stated “This recipient is currently unable to receive money.”
PayPal responded with this message,
“PayPal has permanently restricted the account used by WikiLeaks due to a violation of the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, which states that our payment service cannot be used for any activities that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity. We’ve notified the account holder of this action”
Wikileaks also removed the ‘PayPal’ donation option from this donating section of theirs.

WikiLeaks: Love it or Hate it, but Save it
[…] Different sections of the world have given different responses to the diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks. America has demonized it. Chinese have blocked it. Iran called it as mischief. Russia called it ridiculous. Amazon shuts its internet servers. PayPal closed its financial account. […]

the policy of US and their allied is well understandable by all even a child. so far, there was no prob with wikileaks but when they disclosed something hidden, they has become villain. it’s nothing but the oppression of the mighty “?”. it’s a natural process to stop the voice of truth. thanks, for sharing.
Tristan
Huh. That sucks for WikiLeaks! I wonder if PayPal will cite exactly how WikiLeaks “breached” the PayPal terms of service. I doubt it!
Thanks for sharing!

Wow… This certainly sucks, first the DDOS attacks, then Amazon, then their website goes off and now this? Is there anyone willing to support the truth out there?
Bligbook
But i have heard that ipv6 is not protecting against DDos attack, maybe they are using ipv4

This is certainly an outrageous display of power by the US government. I mean they themselves do all these wrong things and when those wrong things leak into the open through some sources why are the after the source. First of all they should stop doing all those wrong things. A government needs to be transparent with all its transaction and decisions.
S.Pradeep Kumar
Yea Shiva, guess the Government is afraid of something. I think some major issue is hidden behind this.
Bligbook
ya shiva i can understand, you have also made a donation to wikileaks , right?
