HostGator is a leading provider of web hosting, reseller hosting, and dedicated servers. Over 2500000 websites hosted there. Today we moved to HostGator for better uptime and reliability.
For the past few weeks, HBB faced lots of downtime and Internal server error. Earlier HBB was hosted by GoDaddy, and seriously we didn’t find much issue with it until we were a victim of malware attacks. Several WordPress blogs hosted on GoDaddy were attacked at that time.
And I also came to know (via Reverse IP), lots of adult websites along with HBB hosted on their shared webhost, this affected my blog in all major search engines.
So I made use of Black Friday, and brought two webhosting packages from HostGator — Shared & VPS. After reviewing, I found Shared Hosting quite compatible for my blog right now.
I think it will take some time for the DNS to propagate, hopefully soon enough. Cheers. 🙂

I cannot believe that Shared hosting is still fit for HBB. But soon you’ll hv to shift to a VPS 😛

It is good to see that you have made a transition. I have recently moved my hosting to TMD and their services are awesome. Since I am working on a few larger projects I needed a much sophisticated hosting.

That’s a very smart move. Godaddy is not for Hosting – They are for domains. HostGator Rocks in all aspects.

That’s really bad. I checked the loading speed using Pingdom Tools (http://tools.pingdom.com/), it is far better after the migration. 😐
Hi Pradeep, hostgator is a great choice. I am using hostgator since 2005 for several small sites and also for client sites and have always had a good experience with their server performance and support.
I use JustHost.com for my blog but i am familiar with HostGator by working with my client’s sites.
I prefer JustHost since it is cheaper and also the more user friendly interface.

S’pose 50 domains hosted on the same web server as your site, and around 30-40 domains are spammy/porn, then you are in trouble. 8)

1st of all do not take third comment in a row as something dubious. Which says Spammy or porn websites shared on same server do not effect your SEO until unless the ratio of spammy to normal website is abnormally high.
That’s what I meant mate. Earlier we had abnormally high porn websites hosted along with my blog, now it is much low, eg., around 2-3. 🙂
Earlier HBB was blocked/banned in UAE, after the migration, it is unblocked.!
