Find If It Is Raining Now In Any City [Web Tool]

If you are curious to know if it’s raining in any particular city of the world, then you have an online application for it. Just type type on your browser’s address bar. For example,

This shows you the current conditions of Chennai. The answer will be binary form, YES or NO. This tool also tells you the current weather conditions of the particular city or state.

The current weather forecast is from Yahoo Weather using Yahoo! Query Language with PHP; the results are then cached for half hour after the first request.

    1. No its not but as the tool is internally powered by Yahoo! Weather and caches results for 30 minutes so it may not give the real-time conditions always.

  1. Well no offense intended but I think it’s a useless service πŸ™‚ I mean, why would I ever like to know if it is raining NOW in any city. All that people would look for is what would be the forecast for any city in a few hours/days.

    Having said that, it’s good programming learning experience probably for those who have wrote it.. For practical purposes, we can use Yahoo weather..

    Again, it’s not any bashing to any young developers behind the idea. But building on some real useful ideas can take them up there.

  2. This is a really nifty and simplistic tool. I found that using commas instead of dashes works fine too. I wish I knew somewhere where it was raining for sure, just so I could check it.
