If you are confused why you should check Trust Flow and Citation Flow of a website, then you are in the right place, because even I was confused before.
When I started Blogging, around 2007 or so, we majorly focussed on something called “PageRank”. It’s close to Google‘s own algorithm and ranking system. So we badly relied on it to improve our blogs. But right now, it’s not even alive, people started to forget what PageRank (PR) is (was?).
After the so-called death of PR, both Bloggers and Advertisers focused on ranking metrics like Domain Authority (DA), Page Authority (PA), Alexa Rank and others. But I recently encountered some advertisers looking out for blogs with good Trust Flow (TF) and Citation (CF). I know these terms before, but I never really worried that much. But now, I guess we should, at least, understand what they are and why we should improve them further.
Both Trust Flow and Citation Flow are trademarks of Majestic.
- Trust Flow: Your Trust Flow score will be on a scale between 0-100. It’s usually based on the quality of your website and also the quality of the websites who linked your website.
- Citation Flow: Your Citation Flow score will also be on a scale between 0-100. It’s usually a kind of prediction score, like how influential it could be, based on the websites linking back to you.
Both TF and CF are important to analyse your website’s authority. It may not be as popular as DA and PA but still considered as a good ranking metric by some advertisers.
Check Trust Flow And Citation Flow
You can go to Majestic’s homepage and enter your desired website or blog link. Under the ‘Summary’ tab you can find your website’s Trust Flow (TF) and Citation Flow (CF). If you really interested in their tool, then you can also upgrade your plan and get more exclusive in-depth details about your website(s).
Since both Trust Flow and Citation Flow are metrics invented by Majestic, I guess it’s fair to use their own website for determining them, avoid other external websites. Moreover, it’s free for most of the basic features. You can also add your competitor’s website or your fellow blogger’s website and compare the metrics. It’ll be interesting to see the differences. You can easily find out where you lack and where you strike, based on that, you can work on your next strategy to improve your blog further.
Do let us know your website’s TF and CF in the comments below.
