Three Essential Staff Members for Small Business

Throughout your experience as an entrepreneur, you are likely to encounter thousands of people and personalities in the business world. Within a successful company, there will be several individuals who each contribute something important, and without whom the business could not function in the same manner. This is true in any efficient company, but it can be difficult to try and emulate a formula that is so varied and complex.

Because of this, you will need to try and group people differently. You need contributions from several different perspectives and personality types, but it would be impossible to specify the exact person you need and then go out and find that person. Until effective human cloning techniques are distributed, or you develop a way to create the exact type of human you need, there are other strategies you can use to get the right person.

While you may have dozens or hundreds of employees and staff members, your essential executives, managers, and support can generally be broken down into three categories. Each contributes his or her own talents, perspective, and individual personality, and all three will help make a healthy company.

The Fixer

This person is essentially the “do-er” of the group, and he or she will be responsible for much of the tangible, tactical and technical action that goes on within the company. The Fixer is generally an active, outgoing individual who loves a challenge and is ready to get to work from Day One. Because of The Fixer’s constant activity and action within the business, he or she will also be one of the most visible individuals and may be seen as the face of your company.

The Fixer is the person who will establish many of your business relationships, and he or she will help define many of your policies and protocols. For example, the Fixer can not only help identify the right cybersecurity firm but also implement the various systems and strategies that are recommended by the security experts like those found at https://cbisecure.com/cyber-security-solutions-michigan.

The Manager

Your manager will be the “thinker” of the group who solves difficult problems through specific processes and tried-and-true methods. He or she will usually be a more traditional type of person who likes to apply these time-tested methods that have worked in the past to new situations and find ways to adapt processes to new problems.

The Manager is a pragmatic individual who is serious but fair with employees, clients, and colleagues. He or she will be the person who develops improvements to the cybersecurity protocols that your Fixer implements. The manager would also identify any issues or potential problems within these systems, usually before they occur.

The Innovator

The Innovator is the creative force within your company, and this is likely the role you will fill, as the entrepreneur. Your innovative ideas and vision for the business will drive the company and every aspect of it for the entire time you are involved. As an Innovator, you must constantly seek new ways to improve products/services and find better ways to fill the needs of your customers.

The Innovator is usually the most flexible of the positions, as there could be a number of different hats you will wear. The flexibility and adaptability of the Innovator are actually what helps to define the role, and creativity is one of the driving forces here. This person must be forward-thinking, seeing new ideas and innovations where others would only see the status quo.

The Right People for You

Of course, all of these are only examples of the personalities that may be necessary, and every business is different. Each of these roles and their characteristics may spill over into other roles; one person may fill two of the roles, or two people may fill one.

As long as you can identify the right people for your specific business needs, you will not have to worry about defining each individual trait that is needed. Your people will always be the most crucial aspect of your company, and they will all bring their own personalities, characteristics, quirks, opinions, and perspectives. Once you find the right people for you, your company can reach realistic business goals.

  1. Hello,

    Good shout over here 🙂

Indeed small business to requires some of the important players who can act as a pillar to our business. One man can not do
all the task which are meant to be done with their business to make it a successful one.

Its good to hire people like, manager, a fixer who can fix all the broken links with the customer or any services they
provide. Manger to look after their business and find the ways to promote their stuff.

Also its better to hire men according to our budget, over crowding can cost us more and some times we need to pay them
if our business is not making not so much of money.

    Thanks for the share.
