Check Domain Authority And Page Authority Of A Website

I started to regularly check Domain Authority and Page Authority of my blogs during the past few months. I’m not a big fan of ranks and stuff, but hey, when I want to monetize my blog further I have no other choice. Right?

So yea, back to the basics. PageRank officially was gone, unless it reappears like Jon Snow (Game of Thrones), we don’t have any other proper (or easy?) way to measure our growth.

We can use Google Analytics to see how well our blog is performing regarding traffic, but we can’t compare those stats with our competitors and improve further. So we badly need some metrics to know how well we are performing with our websites. So that’s where Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA) comes in.

Just like Trust Flow (TF) and Citation Flow (CF) are by Majestic, we have this DA and PA by none other than Moz. Both your DA and PA will be on a scale between 0-100 (same as TF & CF).

  • Domain Authority: Like Moz says, it’s a “calculated metric” decided by various factors like link counts, rank scores, etc. It shows how strong your website is in terms of SEO.
  • Page Authortiy: Do remember DA is for a ‘domain’ whereas PA is for a ‘page’ in that ‘domain’. Applicable for each and every individual page in that domain.

You can find it on the official website itself, just go to Moz’s Open Site Explorer (OSE) and enter your domain name.

I guess DA is the new PR. So far, people use this metric as an easy way to see how established a website is. PageRank is still a popular way, but, I don’t honestly remember when they last updated. Want to know when is the next Domain Authority update?

      Thank you for the short but valuable tutorial. The only thing that I really dislike about OSE is that they put limits on how many site you can check. Sadly, I have a lot of competitors so I can’t really have all the DA and PA info down all at once. 🙁

        Hi Daymond, yes, that’s kinda sad for us too. But if you are into serious marketing stuff, then it’s better to grab their premium plan, worth the investment. 🙂

      I think the same. Google is not updating their Pagerank database. I think they now consider DA and PA of a site. Thanks for sharing helpful article Pradeep.
