Kingston Unveils World’s First 256GB USB Flash Drive : DataTraveler 300

Kingston Technology Company, Inc. launched the world’s first 256 GB USB pen drive a.k.a. flash drive. The Kingston DataTraveler 300 has a capacity of 256GB. Now you can easily carry huge amount of data anywhere and anytime. You can store plenty of photos, videos and important data. It is very useful for making backups. This flash drive is ideal for notebooks users for extending their capacities. Security is also considered well in this flash drive.datatraveler-300Now users can protect and safeguard their data by using Kingston’sΒ  Password Traveler Software which allows users to password protect their data in a privacy zone. It can protect up to 90% of its capacity. Kingston states that the 256GB of storage space is equal to 10 Blu-ray discs, 54 DVDs, or 365 CDs. The Kingston DataTraveler 300 is only available in 256GB. And the bad news for Indians is, this sleeky gadget is currently available in Far East, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

And another bad news is its cost. It costs about Β£565.67 which is around Rs.44976.

  2. Kingston is doing very well. Its pretty good, presently I use an 8GB kingston pen drive. But for the same space scandisk is much sleeker………
    Kingston 256GB looks really coolll……… But the sad part as mentioned in your post is the price………. πŸ™

  6. Thats good but if anyone tell me that he is surely going to buy it for increasing his storage capacity, i’ll advice him to either buy a Dell Studio 15 or A portable HDD Drive.

  9. Simple and small, can be put in your pocket and take no place. I do really like this USB. I'm an USB user rather than Hard disk… I own a macintosh and found its memory capacity sufiscient for my use.

  11. Hey, the flash drive looks amazing.I would like to buy it as soon as it’s cost comes down to something like Rs 500. I know I will have to wait a long time but this is the price at Nehru Place, Delhi for 4 GB Flash Drive.

  12. see guys, as far as i know, nobody don’t get any need to carry 256gb of data here and there, so basically the reason for this release was just to show off the company’s pride, so i suggest all of you to just ignore it.

    I have 320GB portable HDD which is far better and far cheaper than this :p
