With the arrival of the new year, it is time to prepare for the cultural activities that you will want to do all year round. Some of us invest a lot of resources in books, movies, or music. Many of our readers have already formed the habit of buying books, and the year 2022 will be filled with a lot of book launches. Here are the most anticipated books of 2022.

Gallant by V.E. Schwab

On the specialised sites, and from what we managed to conclude after reading the latest reviews of this book, we can say a few things with certainty. First of all, Schwab’s fans were pleasantly surprised to see that the author managed to release another opera, so the expectations were quite high. Gallant is a very intriguing story about a girl who can’t talk but who has a very strange and sinister gift about which you will find some pretty scary things.

If you are not in the category of people interested only in online casino India, this book will allow you to enter a different world, but with many similarities. Olivia Prior, the main character, is a teenager who cannot speak, but who can see ghosts and supernatural appearances. Some say that Gallant is a true work of art; a book written without error and an action-packed story that will make you read page after page. Critics praised the story and the characters, even the ghosts. Everything combines very well in the environment created by Schwab, and we recommend that you read this work with interest.

The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh

Most of the reviews we’ve been able to read tell us that this book is very beautiful and that the main ideas presented by the characters are a life lesson for each of us. But what you need to know before reading this book is that all this beauty has a lot of suffering and death behind it. You will have many sad moments reading this book, so consider yourself warned.

Shim Cheong’s story is told from a feminist perspective. It’s very easy to read, but it’s a book that needs time and you don’t have to lose your patience when you read it. The story is something that specialists would call a slow burner. During the reading, you will notice that diversity is a word that describes quite well the way it was written. The author is Korean-American, the story is taken from Korean folklore, and the main characters are also part of the Korean community. We recommend that you read it because it is a very beautiful book that surprises you, has a feminist air and is extremely charming.

Portrait of a Thief by Grace D Li

We are moving from suffering and beauty to colonialism and racism. Portrait of a Thief is the story of a team of thieves who will either become very rich or risk losing their lives, their future, and their freedom. Will Chen’s team of friends remember to steal some very valuable artefacts that were once stolen from China? The book is a masterpiece, a very good story about heists and the Asian diaspora.

Portrait of a Thief by Grace D Li is an amalgam of diversity, written by a Chinese-American author, with the protagonists of the book being the same. What will surprise you a lot in this book is that you will find fragments where some defects of society are exposed very violently. You will recognise racist phrases that are related to the trauma suffered by immigrants. The book will move you to tears, make your heart beat faster, and can be described in one word as priceless.

The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley

A short and exciting story that tells the tale of a locked room belonging to an apartment building in Paris. There is something unusual about this place because, in that building, everyone who lives there has something to hide. The main character, Jess, is in a rather delicate situation in her life in which she has managed to lose her job, she is broke, and she is alone. The only solution left is to ask her brother for help. Although he was not very happy to be the host for his sister, he agreed.

After arriving at his apartment, Jess begins to learn as much as she can about Ben’s life. Unfortunately, he gets a lot of question marks because the more she finds out, the more questions she has. The action becomes tense as the interaction with the neighbours becomes more and more strange. Everyone has something to hide.

Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn

We end our list with a fantastic story that is very closely related to Chinese mythology. The book is about Xingyin, the Moon Goddess’s daughter. Her existence is secret because her mother was punished. Another part of the punishment is that she remains a prisoner for a month. Throughout the story, Xingyin tries to get her mother out of the magical prison where she is trapped.

Conclusion

Each of the above readings received a lot of positive feedback from the community. Critics talk a lot about these titles, and we can’t wait for you to tell us your opinion after you have finished reading all 5 titles.
