WordPress by default uses Ping-O-Matic’s server (rpc.pingomatic.com), which is a popular ‘ping’ service. But apart from this, we also have some other popular and useful ping services, we’ll be adding them to our WordPress ping list.

So whenever you publish a new content, WordPress will automatically notify these site update services (Ping services). The ones mentioned in the WordPress Codex are kind of outdated, so I modified the list a bit and published it here.
Earlier people used to ping their blog posts and article manually using such services, but now thanks to WordPress, this is simplified.

Hi Vineet, how old is your blog? If your blog is new and articles getting indexed in a day or two is fine. But if your blog is old and having a decent authority, then the articles should be indexed within minutes or max an hour.
Oks. Im working on a website whose blog we started 2 months back.
Another website whose blog is 3 years old.
I’m just using WordPress without knowing these things and indexing new pages manually in Google. Its a relax to know that WordPress is doing it instantly. I’ll edit it with my site.
