If you’re heading to Las Vegas this year, then it’s very likely you’re going to want to do some gambling. It’s the home of casino games and with more and more people now enjoying the likes of slot games, blackjack and poker in online casinos, the tables in Vegas are getting fuller and fuller.
For those who haven’t been to Sin City before, or perhaps even a real-life casino, it can feel a little intimidating. After all, unlike playing at the likes of 777.nl, you’re not playing from the comfort of your own home, and sometimes those playing around you can feel a little intimidating.
Then there’s also the stories and myths you hear about Vegas. Some true, others not. However, do not fear. There are plenty of things you can come to expect from any Las Vegas casino, some things good, some things bad. Some things neither here nor there.
To help you along your way, here are five things you can come to expect from any casino on the Strip…
Free Drinks
We’ll start with the most important thing. Yes, it’s true. You really can get free drinks. If you’re actively playing a slot game or at a table, then it’s the waiting staff’s job to keep you there. That’s why you’ll find plenty of waiters or waitresses come over to you and offer you a drink. Just make sure you take them up on it.
Of course, don’t go overboard, you still need to play within your means on the game you are playing, but it’s a great way to enjoy a beverage or two while also playing the casino games you love. Although the drinks won’t come entirely free, you’ll naturally have to tip your server.
A Lot of Noise
Las Vegas casinos are noisy. Very, very noisy. Firstly, you’ve got the hundreds of slots jingling and jangling. Then you’ve got the music playing out of every bar. Then there’s the excitable tourists and parties that make the loudest noise of all.
The groans and cheers of table games is perhaps what makes the noise all worthwhile, especially if a huge cheer goes up as someone wins big. You’ll find this most at the craps table, which is much more of a social game than any other, and they’ll often even draw a crowd of spectators.
If noise isn’t your thing though, you can come back at quieter times, but still expect to hear some. After all, Las Vegas is a 24/7 city.
Subtle Smells
Interestingly, Las Vegas casinos will all smell slightly different. And that’s not because of the different restaurants within them, but each will often pump out their own fragrances onto the casino floor, masking any bad odours mainly from cigarette smoke.
Many Las Vegas resorts will even have their own fragrances which are available for purchase. Although we can’t imagine anyone really wants to bring home Eau de Caesars or Eau de MGM with them.
People With Huge Buckets of Coins
One thing you are guaranteed to see, almost every minute of every day in a Las Vegas casino is an overweight holidaymaker with a huge bucket of coins, sat by a slot machine for hours upon hours, continually feeding it. Top tip – don’t let that be you.
Loads of Great Food
And finally, while you may purely associate the casino floor with casino games, there’s much more to them than that. You’ll find a range of different bars, and many different restaurants, a number of which will be owned by world renowned chefs.
Don’t spend all your time on the casino floor, go and enjoy a taste of them. Who knows, you may even be able to treat yourself with your winnings.
