Gambling On Sports Game When Live

There are a lot of people that will love to gamble on sports before the game because it is probably one of the easiest things to do. With extensive research, people will make their bets sometimes based on luck and sometimes based on backing it with stats and logic.

One of the most difficult things to do in sports betting is to bet on live action. Things will constantly change as the game moves on depending on what the match-up is and what the score of the games is. Point spreads are no easy task to bet on and what are primary examples of live betting?

Over/Under Point Totals

There are a few ways for people to bet on the over/under. The first way is to bet on the over/under for a basketball game right before tip-off. Let’s say the Kansas Jayhawks and the Miami Hurricanes (FL) are playing one another. The over/under before the game was 155.5. Say you bet the under and are going to lose a bet because the halftime score is 50-49 and then the over/under total goes to 165.5 for the live betting.

There will be sports fans that then grab their phones and place a bet in as the game is going on to bet the over because that is the trend of the basketball game.

The game total over/under points isn’t the only option in the sports betting world. There are also first-half total point bets and there are also second-half total point bets. Say Vegas uses 82.5 points for the over/under in the first half. Depending on what happened in the first half, they will have a different number set aside for the second half.

Vegas could use 65.5 total points scored in this second half. That could feel like an easy overbet depending on how the basketball game is going.

Point Spreads for Games

The NFL on Sundays is one of the heaviest betting days of the year. Say the Philadelphia Eagles are facing the New York Giants. Philadelphia is favored by New York (-4) points. The Giants have a 20-10 lead at halftime. The live bet is the Eagles to (+6) in the second half over New York.

It would feel like potentially a free money move in the second half since it is only a 10 points game and the Eagles could be within those six points when the second half would role around against the Giants.

This is where in-game sports betting gets very hard to understand. There are sports gamblers out in the entire universe that think this is easy, but they will get trapped and potentially lose their money. In-game betting is hard on the brain and it can sometimes give people headaches. This is not the only case in football, but in all of the other sports as well.

Moneylines for Games

The money line for sports games is a real attention grabber for the viewers out there. Say the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Carolina Hurricanes are playing each other in a regular-season game. The money line is for Tampa Bay to win at -125 and Carolina at +150. These odds are close enough that decent money might be won either way, even though with the + sign you’ll get more than the – sign.

Say the score is 0-0 through two periods. The live betting odds might be the same after the second-period intermission, but what happens if Carolina takes a 1-0 lead with 10 minutes to go remaining in regulation over Tampa Bay? Well, the odds might flip to the Hurricanes at a -150 money line and the Lightning to a +125 money line.

Even though Tampa Bay only would need two goals to potentially beat Carolina, it would be an extremely risky bet because what if both goalies are shutting the door? Hockey is such a weird game because of all of the lucky bounces that occur also.
