Why We Should Use WordPress for Your Website?

Use WordPress for Your WebsiteWordPress was first launched in 2003. In those days, it was seen as a fairly simple (but still useful) CMS (Content managing system) for blogging purposes. Since those days, it got a reputation as “just-a-blog” software, and some people still see it as such, which is absolutely wrong and limiting compared to the true power of WordPress. Even a few years ago, web designers saw this CMS as best suited for blogs, and chose Joomla or Drupal for other types of website. Things are different nowadays and WordPress is being used as a backbone for all sorts of different websites and it has grown into one of the most used platforms for web design. Before we get into actual reasons why WordPress is the right software for your website, let’s clear up another myth while we are at it: a blog is a website, a website is a blog. There is no actual difference. I don’t know why WordPress is so underrated. Maybe because it’s open source and because it’s free, and the rest of the competing software companies wear a price tag? This brings us to the first reason why WordPress is more convenient than the rest of the big blogging/web design software:

Use WordPress for Your Website [Reasons]

1. Collaborating with the public

One of the major benefits of having an open source software is the collaboration with the public behind it. Most open source programs are created by tens of thousands of programmers from all over the World as a collaborative process. This way, everything is improved a great deal by being optimized and it, thus, becomes more functional. Simply put, would you rather work using a piece of software that has been built by a handful of developers, or a piece of software that has been built by thousands of developers and is being improved constantly?

2. Low cost

You can get the source code for free, and the support provided with the system is very cheap. Likewise we used OLX Tanzania to get some open-source products for a cheap price.

3. Reliability

Open source promotes reliability and quality by supporting independent peer reviews and rapid evolution of the source code.

4. Easy to customize

The availability of the code makes it easy for the system to be adapted to any sort of website requirement.

You can manage your website from any computer

WordPress is a browser based piece of software, which means you can login from any PC with internet access and manage your website.

Easy to use

One of the big reasons why people turn to this CMS more than others is the fact that it doesn’t require any programming skills to set up a blog, unlike many other software. WordPress is easy to use and has a natural and intuitive interface. A pre-installed plug-in and template function allows them to be installed very easily. All you need to do is choose a plug-in or a template and click on “install”.
It’s a great choice for beginners.

The best learning curve around

Creating new posts and uploading images is as simple as it gets. At the same time, there are a lot of advanced and complicated functions that are available for use, but are very easy to ignore until the point when you are ready to learn more. So if you are planning on making a carrier in web design, WordPress is best for beginners, and trust me when I say, the more you learn, the more you will want to work on it.

Variety of plug-ins

WordPress has hundreds of plug-ins that can make your site look up to date, and work flawlessly. Most of the plug-ins are free and the ones that are not are usually very cheap. This is also open source software.

Updates are constant

The fact that WordPress is the most used platform out there (and for good reason, too), the work on the platform never stops. The system is constantly evolving and improving, with new functions being added all the time. Of course, this could make it hard for you to keep the updates on top.

Community

The support is second to none, given the fact that this is one of the most used pieces of software and the community is active and huge. Aside from WordPress support resources, you can find help with any particular matter from third party forums. And trust me, for any question you have, there is already an answer online.

Hope this article brought you closer to WordPress. There are a lot more things that it can do, so keep researching and building up your skills, and you will find out that there is a lot more that this software has to offer.
