Get Through Your Email Faster – Gmail Priority Inbox

Yes, now you can get through your email faster than ever. Priority Inbox, a new feature from Gmail, automatically identifies your important email and separates it out from everything else, so you can focus on what really matters.

In order to predict which messages are important to you, Gmail uses some of the same technology that it uses to weed spam out of your Inbox.

If it incorrectly predicts which messages are important you can help train it with the importance buttons just like you can help Gmail’s spam filter by using the Report as spam button. (via Gmail Help)

Does this new feature help you to save your time? Do share them as comments below!

  2. I like what they did to Gmail, the changes makes their service more reliable so we can determine the essentials from those which are not. I think I can handle the changes and learn how to use it.

  3. i have just tried google priority inbox and noticed a serious problem, this can arise *if you are having huge number of starred mail in your inbox*.

In such a case your *important and unread mail will come over top* and that’s ok, but *places for other unread mails that will come below starred mail will decreases*, so yet it is organized but *you have to check other pages* too if you are having huge number of mails daily.

So i will say for few user it will be organized but for few it can cause panic.

  7. This looks like a really good idea! I might consider switching to Gmail (from Hotmail) because of this Priority Inbox. I get so much junk in my Hotmail account its ridiculous. Most of it is ‘student deals’. As soon as you sign up to a student site you suddenly get loads of emails asking you of you want discounts and hardly any of them are useful! It’d be nice to be able to see the exact emails that I want to see without sifting through the junk.

  9. I am using gmail frequently and the priority box is a useful tool to separate between normal and important mails so I am classifying my mails into 4 sections: priority, normal inbox, spam and trash.

    • Buddy, I heard it was being rolled out, it may take up to a week before it’s available to all. I think you need to enable some stuffs (like pre-release features) on Google Apps Dashboard. 🙂
