Best WordPress Plugins For Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

The plugins I’m going to mention now, I have already used them and I have good experience with them. So I know the impact and results of these plugins. Trust me or not, even the slightest optimization you do for your blog, may result in a great difference change. So let’s begin with our list:

1. WordPress SEO Plugin (Yoast)

WordPress SEO Plugin (Yoast)

This is so far the best (and widely used) SEO plugin out there. It consists of all the elements to optimize your blog for friendly search results. They also have a pretty neat SEO checklist and you can follow that for proper on-page SEO.

Why This Is Important? This plugin gives us a checklist below each post editor, which reminds us to fix some elements to have a properly optimized blog post.

2. Broken Link Checker

Broken Link Checker

Broken Link Checker plugin analyzes your entire blog for broken links, let it be – comments, posts, or even your image URLs, they have a neat dashboard which shows all the links. You can easily edit/remove those links.

Why This Is Important? Broken links are bad for SEO. Also it’s hard to manually check each and every blog post for broken links. This plugin comes handy.

3. EWWW Image Optimizer

EWWW Image Optimizer

This plugin automatically optimizes your images as you upload them to your blog + you can also optimize the existing images on your blog server.

Why This Is Important? By reducing the image file sizes, you can improve the blog load speed and also saves server bandwidth.

4. WP Rich Snippets

WP Rich Snippets

This is one of the best plugins to add Schema Structured Markup to your blog posts. This gives an enhanced search experience for your blog with ratings and stuff.

Why This Is Important? Schemas give a professional and detailed look for your reviews. It revamps the SERP of your blog posts, by telling Google what kind of post it is, whether it’s a product review, a movie review, or even a food recipe.

5. Redirection

Redirection

Have you recently changed your WordPress blog post permalinks? Then you might have faced plenty of redirection issues. You can make some changes in .htaccess file, but for easy redirections, you can try this plugin.

Why This Is Important? This plugin helps to prevent broken links on your blog. You can redirect all the deleted blog posts or your desired blog posts to somewhere else.

6. Format Media Titles

Format Media Titles

This plugin is useful for lazy people or people who are careless I would say. This plugin automatically grabs the file name of the image and uses that for the tags like title, alt, description and caption. I find it pretty useful.

Why This Is Important? Tags like Title and Alt are good for Image SEO.
