Written by in Resources - Print This Post

Lots of people started organizing events these days. Some do it for branding their blog and some for God Sake! Though lots of people prefer the gorgeous Meetup.com, still there are tonnes of people who prefer normal event management systems since they come free of cost. We are going to see some of them here.

If you have attended any meetups or blogging events, you could have easily realized the plan involved it. If you ask me, why you should attend, you can check this “Why You Should Attend Blogger Meetups“. Below you can see some of the common and famous websites for creating and managing events for free online.

#1 – DoAttend :

doattendDoAttend is an online event registration service that allows you to create, publish and promote your event for free. Explore the WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor to explain what your event is all about.

Only events that you Publish will be available for the public to view. You can publish/unpublish an event whenever you want by editing it. Set it up on your personalized event page with their easy to use registration system and have your event visible to the world at http://yourevent.doattend.com, within a matter of minutes. You can provide your attendees with eTickets for that professional touch, even if its a free event. [See Full Review Here]

#2 – Eventzilla :

EventzillaThe best alternatives for Meetup.com are DoAttend and Eventzilla I would say. I already shared a tutorial for creating event on DoAttend, so now am going to review about Eventzilla.

Using Eventzilla, you can set up your event and start selling tickets instantly. Just remember if you are selling free tickets, then Eventzilla is absolutley free for you. If it is not a free event, then you only pay a small fee when your customers buy a ticket. Simple!! [See Full Review Here]

#3 – Facebook :

FacebookFacebook is a social network service and website launched in February 2004 that is operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc. As of July 2010 Facebook has more than 500 million active users.

Facebook Events is one of the simplest ways to create and manage events online and share it with your Facebook friends easily. [See Full Review Here]

#4 – MySpace :

MySpaceMySpace was the most popular social networking site in the United States during 2006. Still many people use it even after Facebook and Twitter buzz. MySpace has lots of cool features which are not present on Facebook.

MySpace Events is as popular as Facebook Events, and I was suggested to make this simple ‘HOW TO’ tutorial for some online awareness groups. Creating an Event on MySpace is quite simple and here is the procedure for it. :) [See Full Review Here]

#5 – LinkedIn :

LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site, mostly used for professional networking. LinkedIn connects you to your trusted contacts and helps you exchange knowledge, ideas, and opportunities with a broader network of professionals.

Recently I found LinkedIn Events quite interesting and it is easy to create and manage Events here. If you are organizing an event or bloggers meet, then this could be very useful. I mentioned the procedure to create and manage events here. [See Full Review Here]

#6 – SlideShare :

SlideshareSlideShare is an online slide hosting service. Users can upload files in the following file formats: PowerPoint, PDF, or OpenOffice presentations. You can create an event to collect all the presentations that were delivered (or will be delivered) at a talk, conference or seminar.

SlideShare is undoubtedly the best way to get your slides out there on the web, so that your ideas can be found and shared by a wide audience. Events can be used for building up buzz, sending invites, archiving content, actively discussing topics etc.

Events are similar to groups, with additional features like location, date & time. Earlier we saw ‘HOW TO’ create events using LinkedIn and Facebook. [See Full Review Here]
