WinZip announced release of WinZip 14.5 update and it is exclusively optimized for Windows 7. It also works on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
It also features an Office 2010-style ribbon user interface (UI).
WinZip is the world’s most popular Zip utility for file compression, encryption, packaging, and data backup.
Some New Features Of WinZip 14.5 :
- Microsoft Office 2010-style ribbon interface.
- New Zip button on Home tab lets the user first select the files.
- Auto Open feature automatically extracts and opens a zipped file.

Man, I just now checked my WinZip version… It’s a single digit version number and never really upgraded. I was using the WinRAR all this while but I liked WinZip better when that was in use

Mine is WinRAR 3.91 almost up to date. But my winzip software in my backup folder says 7.0

This sounds cool, thinking if i shld switch frm winRAR to WinZIP lolz!
the windows7 os actually comes with a zipping feature, so am not really needing the winzip anymore
but good to see an update coming,

Like Directory Sieve I too use the one built into my system. I used WinZip for years before that though.
I suppose if I ever felt the need to do other then simply zipping and unzipping I would go for it though.
