Mobile web is becoming easier to access after introducing iPhone and Android. Now-a-days smart phones are capturing market for revenue generation through mobile advertising. Popular brands are also in ground with their mobile websites for capturing mobile market share for better profit. It seems that after 2 or 3 years mobile SEO will also become hot trend in search industry, as this kind of boom we are facing for Internet marketing services. So let’s start with mobile seo.
Mobile SEO (Mobile search engine optimization) is a hybrid of search engine optimization and mobile marketing and a specific niche of both.
Mobile SEO is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to digital content from search engines via natural search results to users who entering mobile queries. Mobile seo is emphasizing on exclusively diverse style of search or with context in which the queries were entered.

Recent eMarketer report (June 2009) reveled that us mobile internet users will increase from 59.5 Million $ in 2008 to 134.3 Million $ in 2013 as you can see in below chart.

Content Format – In Mobile SEO, you will find mobile specific content it means no long descriptive content while Web SEO has generic content.

Google is dominating in mobile search engine marketing share by securing 97% and other search engine contains 3% market share in mobile search engines. Peoples are likely to use Google for their mobile search as they are using Google for web search.

Sorry for the late comment on this post but hats off to a really good post. One thing I think you’ve missed out on is the potential use of time in mobile SEO. Google have been quoted as saying they recieve a massive surge in mobile queries during lunch times, by targeting when mobile users are browsing with Tweets or special Foursquare offers you can improve your overall traffic and conversion.
