Windows Internet Explorer 8 Released

Windows Internet Explorer needs no introduction in browsing world even though it has many competitors. Windows Internet Explorer 8 is the latest one in the IE browser series. This browser from Microsoft is the successor to Internet Explorer 7 which was released in 2006. This Internet Explorer 8 will be the default browser for upcoming Windows 7. The latest browser from Microsoft is designed for :

New features included in latest Internet Explorer 8

• Accelerators : Speeds up day-to-day online works like searching, emailing, social networking, etc within the active webpage.

• Web Slices : Appears in the browser’s favourites bar and allows the user to access updated information from their most visited websites, without visiting that website.

• Visual Search : Provides Image-based search results from the browser’s home page.

• Suggested Sites : As described by Microsoft, it is a tool used to suggest websites. Suggested Sites feature is turned off by default and will be disabled when the user is browsing in InPrivate mode.

• InPrivate : This mode consists of three main featues : InPrivate Browsing, InPrivate Blocking, and InPrivate Subscription. InPrivate mode allows you to browse privately. It will not store any history, cookies, offline data and many more.

• SmartScreen Filter : If a user visits a website which is an harmful site, then Internet Explorer 8 will prompt that the website is reported harmful and should not be visited.

• Automatic Crash Recovery : If the browser crashes and webpages that were visited can be recovered.

• Caret Browsing : Enables users to navigate a webpage with a moveable cursor on the screen with the help of keyboard. Use the F7 key to turn off or on Caret Browsing.

• Tab Grouping : Allows users to put related tabs that comes from same website/webpage into groups. This allows users to quickly identify the tabs.

• Developer Tools : Provides tools that will debug HTML, CSS, and Javascript directly from the browser. This will be useful for developers.
